I’ve mentioned before that our farm is chemical free, and we’d like to keep it that way. But the weeds are all over our semi-newly rocked walkway and driveway. When our friend, Mark, was doing the work, he begged to use some poison, noting that it’d only be on rock pathways (where our car drips oil now and then anyway) and not in gardens or pastures. We held firm, and he finished the job. You should see the jungle in the center rut of the road, though. It’s not that bad… Yet. <doom, doom, doom>
We bought a pump sprayer, and put Adyn on the task. He researched some alternative herbicides, and we came up with this:
- 1 gallon vinegar
- 1 cup sea salt
- 4 tsp liquid soap
We’ll see what happens!
***UPDATE***
I went out a couple of hours later, and already the sprayed weeds were wilty. By the next day, they were brown and easy to pull out (which I wanted to do to remove the roots). Success!
